Position:    Director - Women's Ministry

 

SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Director of Women's Ministry is responsible for overseeing the Women's Ministry's activities providing a safe environment for the homeless women and children of the Ministry. As such, the Director of Women's Ministry is responsible to diligently and prayerfully challenge and aid employees in the Women's Ministry in developing and implementing strategies to further the MInistry's mission.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Spiritual:

·   Seek to be a role model in attitude, speech, and actions in a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ. 

·   Show by example the importance of Scripture memorization, Bible study, prayer, witnessing, and Christian fellowhsip.
·   Integrate Biblical principles and a Christian worldview into all ministry objectives and goals.
·   Be prepared to communicate the Mission's religious beliefs to any who inquire.
·   Be ready to pray with and offer spiritual advice to employees and guests.
·  Follow Matthew 18 principles in addressing issues with employees and guests.
 

General Administration:

·   Develop and maintain the ministry, activities and programs for women and children. Handle tasks assigned by the CEO.
·   Supervise, instruct and delegate assigned tasks to Women's Ministry staff maintaining close communication and consistent flow of information concerning the assessment of and personal needs of each guest. Conduct staff meetings on an as-needed basis. Conduct yearly evaluations of Women's MInistry staff. Prepare schedules, record and submit accurate payroll.

·   Receive intake applications and keep files up to date on guests.

·   Produce daily, monthly and yearly reports.

·   Maintain a counseling program for guests, compile and maintain case files on each guest.

·   Provide opportunities for recreation and education for each woman guest.

·   Maintain chore assignment descriptions and develop additional ones as needed. 

·   Coordinate the required Celebrate Recovery community-wide meeting with follow-up meetings individually or in groups with guests.

·   Hold regular house meetings with all guests.

·   Make sure that the building is routinely maintained, cleaned, properly supplies, and that all safety standards are kept. Bring to the attention of the CEO any repairs needing attention and be willing to assist wherever possible and making proper contacts if needed.

·   Maintain and store all donated items and distribute as needed.

·   Provide transportation for guests to attend various community churches for a healthy introduction as a vital part of a guest's spiritual life.

·   Oversee devotions and Bible studies and present the Gospel of God's redeeming grace and befriend house guests that they may sense God's love and concern through you.

·   Oversee the Women's Ministry food pantry. See that all supplies and food are properly handled, dated, and placed in appropriate storage locations.

·   Provide access and transportation if needed for house guests to medical and dental treatment.

·   Present a regular update/review of Women's Ministry hightlights to the CEO.

·   Recognize your relationship with the entire staff of the Mission as a home missionary of the City Rescue Mission and assume your responsibility as a team member.

·   Inform each guest that they will be directly accountable to the Women's Ministry staff unless advised otherwise. Arising problems and circumstances involving the guests must be properly communicated between the house guest and the staff person on duty.

·   Maintain and update Ministry's calendar and inform staff and other directors as appropriate.

·   Work with Development Ministry regarding ministry volunteers.

·   Assist with tours of Hope Place.

·   Attend all Executive Team Leader meetings and be prepared to give updates on ministry and guests.

·   Attend events/fundraisers that are relevant to the City Rescue Mission and its ministry.

·   Have an overall working knowledge of the various ministry areas within the City Rescue Mission in order to properly represent the Mission and also make referrals to appropriate Mission leaders.

·   Be familiar with and have good working relations with other local agencies for networking and referrals.

·   Aid mothers with school-age children and oversee the enrollment in the school system.

 

Qualifications

·   Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

·   Be committed to furthering the City Rescue Mission's mission as a faith-based organization.

·   Agree to uphold the Mission's statement of faith.

·   Be willing to submit to and honor the standards outlined in the Employee Handbook and the Code of Conduct.

·   Faithfully attend and financially support a local church whose beliefs are in agreement with the Mission's.

·   Have a high school diploma. Continual growth and knowledge in the wisdom and teaching from the Bible is essential. Further education in psychology and counseling is beneficial.
·   Basic computer knowledge and hot to set and maintain healthy boundaries.

·   Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to interact well with people in diverse situations and from diverse situations and from diverse cultures.

·   Demonstrate excellence in leadership.

·   Ability to prioritize and make decisions. Must be able to work on multiple projects all at the same time.
·   Be an active member of a local evangelical church.
·   Be dependable and responsible.

·   Must demonstrate skills in leadership and organizational management.
