Position:  Assistant Director, Men's Ministry (Crossroads) 
Responsible to Director - Men’s Ministry

 

Ministry Purpose:

In accordance with Ephesians 4:11-12, Philippians 2:4 and Titus 2:7-8, the Assistant Director of Men's Ministry assists the Director of Men's Ministry    in the development and leadership of staff members in order to provide high quality services to shelter guests and program participants.            Plans, organizes and directs the day-to-day operations of the Men's Ministry Crossroads Program.

 

Primary Responsibilities:   The following constitute the major responsibilities of the Assistant Director, Mens' Ministry (Crossroads):

 

1) Spiritual

     The Assistant Director of Men's Ministry (Crossroads) shall:

          a. Seek to be a role model in attitude, speech and actions in a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ.

          b. Show by example the importance of Scripture memorization, Bible study, prayer, witnessing and Christian fellowship.

          c. Integrate Biblical principles and a Christian worldview into all ministry objectives and goals.

          d. Be prepared to communicate the Mission’s religious beliefs to any who inquire.

          e. Be ready to pray with and offer spiritual advice to employees and guests.

           f. Follow Matthew 18 principles in addressing issues with employees and guests.

 

2) Administrative

     The Assistant Director of Men's Ministry (Crossroads) shall:

           a. Work with the Director to sustain and grow programs and services.
           b. Manage administrative functions to ensure smooth and efficient operations of the Men's Ministry.

           c. Ensure performance goals are set and met.

           d. Fulfill duties delegated by the Director.

           e. Schedule daily work assignments for guests.

            f. Counsel guests one-on-one as needed.

           g. Evaluate the effectiveness of services and outcomes.

           h. Maintain current and complete case notes and records for each guest in the guest tracking program.

            i. Coordinate all services being received by the guests, such as counseling (when appropriate), education, life skills, and job preparation.

            j. Attend staff meetings and perform other duties as requested.

           k. Supervise Crossroad staff, Guest Advisors - Front Desk, Guest Advisor - Crossroads/Outreach, and Caseworker.

 

3) Qualifications

     The Assistant Director of Men's Ministry (Crossroads) shall:

           a. Be an ordained minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

           b. Have a Bachelor's degree in Ministry or Religious Studies or 5 years experience in homeless ministry.

           c. Be able to preach and teach the Word of God effectively and winsomely.

           d. Be an active member of a local evangelical church.

           e. Be proficient in Microsoft Office.

            f. Be dependable and responsible.

           g. Be willing and able to give a Christian witness in all circumstances.

           h. Show genuine love and concern for each guest.

            i. Be in agreement with the City Rescue Mission Doctrinal Statement.
