Position: Guest Advisor - Women's Ministry (Front Desk)
Ministry Purpose: assist and monitor guests of the Women’s Ministry as directed by the Director
Primary Responsibilities:
Spiritual
The Guest Advisor – Women’s Ministry shall:
a. Seek to be a role model in attitude, speech, and actions in a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ.
b. Show by example the importance of Scripture memorization, Bible study, prayer, witnessing, and Christian fellowship.
c. Integrate Biblical principles and a Christian worldview into all ministry objectives and goals.
d. Be prepared to communicate the Mission’s religious beliefs to any who inquire.
e. Be ready to pray with and offer spiritual advice to employees and guests.
f. Follow Matthew 18 principles in addressing issues with employees and guests.
Administrative
The Guest Advisor – Women’s Ministry shall:
a. Handle all incoming calls.
b. Interview and screen individuals, police, or other agencies to determine their needs.
c. Record pertinent information regarding the phone interview.
d. Monitor the activities of the shelter during assigned work hours and maintain the safety and security of all guests.
e. Be familiar with all forms and procedures.
f. Assist with any emergency of the ministry and evacuate all guests if necessary.
g. Assist with office duties as requested. Each office is to be kept orderly and clean at all times.
h. Counsel and encourage guests with spiritual guidance.
i. Interact with guests, volunteers, and donors with courtesy, respect and a welcoming Christlike attitude.
j. Must be able and willing to give a Christian witness in all circumstances.
k. Be mature in your Christian life and able to lead devotions and prayer time.
l. Work at other duties as assigned by the Director or Assistant Director.
Qualifications
The Guest Advisor – Women’s Ministry must be:
a. Dependable and responsible.
b. Well groomed. The dress code is conservative in nature and it is expected that you present yourself accordingly, maintaining a neat
appearance at all times.
c. Mature in your Christian life and have workable knowledge of the word of God.
d. Show a genuine love and concern for the guests. (Together we seek to minister to the souls whom God sends to us).
e. Active member of a local evangelical church.
f. Able to maintain confidentiality.
g. Responsible to keep the Mission and Hope Place staff informed regarding changes to home address, phone number, and emergence
contact information.
h. Not incur unnecessary debts where it would in any way be a detriment to your position and to your identity with the City Rescue Mission.
i. Able to abstain from anything that is detrimental to the cause of Christ and seek very conscientiously a oneness of spirit as a staff
member, having a spirit of
cooperation and concern for all others on the staff.
j. Be in agreement with the City Rescue Mission Doctrinal Statement.
