Position: Guest Advisor - Men's Ministry (Front Desk) Responsible to Assistant Director - Men's Ministry
Ministry Purpose: In accordance with Ephesians 4:11-12, Phillippians 2:4, and Titus 2:7-8, the Guest Advisor - Men's Ministry oversees operations of the front desk of the Men's Ministry.
Primary Responsibilities: The following constitute the major responsibilities of the Guest Advisor - Men's Ministry:
1) Spiritual
The Guest Advisor - Men's Ministry shall:
a. Seek to be a role model in attitude, speech, and actions in a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ.
b. Show by example the importance of Scripture memorization, Bible study, prayer, witnessing, and Christian fellowship.
c. Integrate Biblical principles and a Christian worldview into all ministry objectives and goals.
d. Be prepared to communicate the Mission's religious beliefs to any who inquire.
e. Be ready to pray with and offer spiritual advice to employees and guests.
f. Follow Matthew 18 principles in addressing issues with employees and guests.
2) Administrative
The Guest Advisor - Men's Ministry shall:
a. Oversee the administration and operations of the Men's Ministry front desk.
b. Supervise Recovery participants and volunteers who work the front desk.
c. Fully train all other personnel who work the front desk.
d. Ensure that all policies and procedures pertaining to the front desk are followed and adhered to by all personnel working the front desk.
e. Assist the Director - Men's Ministry in establishing policies and procedures pertaining to the front desk.
f. Perform intakes for guests.
g. Keep accurate record of guest medications and be fully responsible to keep said medications locked in a cabinet at all times except to dispense.
h. Take in donations and maintain appropriate paperwork.
i. Interact with guests, volunteers, and donors with courtesy, respect and a welcoming Christlike attitude.
j. Ability to access guests to recommend for shelter programs and recovery program.
k. Enforce Men's Ministry rules pertaining to the guests.
l. Enter data into the Mission Tracker guest data management database.
m. Generate reports as required.
n. All other duties as required.
3) Qualifications
The Guest Advisor - Men's Ministry must:
a. Have high school diploma or GED.
b. Have good interpersonal skills.
c. Have basic computer skills.
d. Competency in Microsoft Office especially Word and Excel.
e. Have good organizational skills.
f. Conflict resolution and crisis de-escalation training.
g. Be dependable and responsible.
h. Be an active member of a local evangelical church.
i. Be willing and able to give a Christian witness in all circumstances.
j. Show genuine love and concern for each guest.
k. Be willing to pray with staff, guests, volunteers, and donors when appropriate.
l. Be in agreement with the City Rescue Mission Doctrinal Statement.
