MINISTRY IN ACTION

City Rescue Mission holds steadfast to the teaching of the word of God and our commitment to providing spiritual and physical care for hurting, hungry, and homeless people in our community through each of it's growing ministries.

MEN'S MINISTRY

The Men's Ministry provides homeless and struggling men safe shelter and the opportunities to recover physically, spiritually and plan for the future. Crossroads Shelter offers emergency  shelter and care to homeless men seeking to gain housing and employment.  The Men's Recovery Program offers Christ-centered life and addiction recovery and discipleship. Community Feeding Program serves a meal every day of the year and is open to everyone.

WOMEN'S MINISTRY

The Women's Ministry offers safe shelter for women and women with children and the opportunity to heal,  pray, recover, and plan ahead. Hope Place is the name of the Mission’s shelter for women and women with children who seek temporary shelter or long term stay through the Jesus First program.  Women who struggle with addiction have the opportunity to gain victory through recovery in the Jesus First program, the ministry's recovery program especially for women.

FAMILY CARE
MINISTRY

The Family Care Ministry of the City Rescue Mission provides assistance to individuals and families in need such as food, personal care items, holiday food and gifts, household products, and prayer. They also provide back to school assistance every fall for children in need of school supplies. Many families served are in crisis due to poverty, unemployment, medical crisis, or fire. The elderly and children are a large percentage of individuals served.

YOUTH MINISTRY

The Youth Ministry sponsors special events, sports and spiritual programs for youth in the community at it’s Sankey Center location. The Mission's Youth Ministry teams up with youth programs from surrounding community churches. The ministry features the Centershot Archery Program, offering youth ages 9 through 18, of all skills and abilities, the opportunity to learn the sport of archery in a faith-based environment.

RECOVERY
MINISTRY

The Men’s Ministry Recovery Program is a biblically-based, residential discipleship program which teaches a way to conquer and overcome life issues. Our caring and compassionate staff and volunteers offer classes covering many issues men face when dealing with addictions and other life bondage issues. Each man joining the
Recovery Program has the opportunity to gain support from
others who have gone through much of the same suffering
in addition to structured study and biblical discipleship.

CARE PORTAL

Churches in western Pennsylvania have a great opportunity to meet the needs of our hurting neighbors together. Since implementing CarePortal in 2021, the City Rescue Mission and local churches have served 147 kids with an economic impact of $66,000!

PRISON MINISTRY

Incarcerated men are seeking to gain victory over fear, anger, doubt and experience peace. The Mission's Prison Ministry program helps  restore and rebuild the lives of imprisoned men and give them purpose.

Twice a week the ministry meets with men to hold chapel services, Bible studies and group sessions followed by group discussion and prayer. The ministry offers counseling for men who are recently released from prison to give them spiritual support as they adjust to the outside world.
