“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”
Galatians 6:2
On Tuesday, June 17th, The City Rescue Mission was privileged to host local churches to discuss the CarePortal program with an informational breakfast meeting at The Confluence in downtown New Castle.
"It was powerful to share how congregations across our community are stepping up to meet real needs—serving families, supporting one another, and being the hands and feet of Jesus Christ," said Jack H. Lynn, President & CEO of the Mission. "We’re grateful for the unity, compassion, and commitment shown today."
The session was an opportunity to update local churches particpating in CarePortal on the history, progress, and future of the program. Additionally, the idea to expand service into Mercer and Beaver counties was discussed with new attendees.
It was a fruitful morning with local churches that are making a real difference and helping families stay together.
CarePortal is a technology connecting platform the Mission uses to bring the needs of people in crisis to your church's attention. Requests submitted through CarePortal come from caseworkers at government welfare agencies or other organizations approved by CarePortal. It is a way for churches to work together to impact the lives of struggling and hurting families in our community by meeting their specific needs.
